Mei taki to McKenzye's mum Haley for bringing her family heirloom tivaevae in to show us. It was amazing to see the beautiful stitching and to learn about why and how the tivaevae are made.
We noticed how the patterns used lots of natural shapes and that they were also symmetrical. Can you see where the symmetry lines are in the design?
Kia orana Room 23, thank you for sharing this fantastic learning with us. Meitaki mΔ’ata (thank you very much) to Brooklyn, Ariya and McKenzye (and mum Haley) for visiting classes. We have all enjoyed Cook Islands Language Week.
