Road Safety Week is about encouraging families to think about how they can help everyone have safe and active journeys to and from school. Parking away from the school and walking in helps keep the area outside the school safer for students. Walking, biking and scootering is a great way to add exercise into your week! Please remember to use the crossings, it may take an extra minute or two but it is another way we can help you to stay safe.
Kia ora R7, what I do to keep safe is to look left and right before I cross the road or I cross at a zebra crossing. Do you do think to look left and right? Hopefully you do. Blog you later and stay safe!

I walk to the crossing not just cross the busies road.
I make sure the cars stop so I can go safely.
I look right and left to see if the cars are coming.
That's all I do to keep safe!!!

2. I look into driveways before I walk/bike past.
3. I stay on the foot paths.
4. I make sure to put the brakes on when I am going around corners.

ReplyDeleteWhat I do to stay safe is look both ways when I cross the road.
I can also run across the road or walk quickly to make sure I don't get run over. I wear a helmet when I bike, to make sure I don't fall off and hit my head.
What could you do to improve? I could wear a helmet on roller skates too.
How do you get to school? Usually I walk.

Kia ora Miss Judd J'varn here from your class. How i keep safe is I would go on the crossing and if I have a skateboard or a scooter and a bike for a scooter and a bike I would get off and walk with it and for a skateboard I would pick it up

Kia Ora Lila, I ride my bike on cycle paths whenever possible to keep safe. I think it's much more fun and relaxing on the bike paths because then I am away from vehicles. I do check out your blog often! bye

Hi Miss Judd, Ted here from your class. Wear a helmet, don't go to fast that you can not control it, don't do any super big jumps when you are still bad at riding. I have a sentence and here it is 'bike to school it's super super cool' . Blog ya later

ReplyDeleteHey miss Judd Rose here! The way I would get to school the most safe is by looking each sides of the road before I cross. And if I am on my bike and crossing the road I would get off my bike and push my bike to the other side of the crossing! If I were on my scooter I would ride my scooter across the road but when I get across the road I would stop! And lastly if I were riding a skate-board I would hold it and then cross!

I cross at the crossing line and check both ways first so I do not get hit by a car. Even if the light person is green I still check if it is safe because a car could go through the red light and hit you.
