  1. Kia ora , this is room 23. Parvana is a girl who lives in the capital of Afghanistan with her family. Her family has lived through bombings and seeing other people hurt or killed. They live in a tiny, one room apartment because their houses kept getting bombed. Parvana has to go the neighbourhood tap to get water for her family and she has to help her father walk to the market each day.
Parvana has to be with her father whenever she is outside her home. She has to cover her hair and shoulders with a chador. She isn't allowed to go to school anymore because the Taliban have said girls cannot get an education in Afghanistan.
Her life is really different from ours here in New Zealand. What do you think about Parvana's life? Do you find it fair? blog you later, Room 23
