Term 4 Home Learning Friday, Week 4
We are going to look at narrative writing today during our meet.
You are going to write a fantasy narrative (that means it is not a true story).
Your protagonist (hero) is your chosen Bird (or Bat) of the Year.
The setting is your chosen bird’s (or bat’s) natural environment.
Apart from that, your story can be about anything!
Check out the resources below to help you write your narrative.

Three Little Pigs Acrostic Poem
Acrostics are fun poems to write. The first letter of each line spells out a word. The word can be a name, a thing, or whatever you like. Usually, the first letter of each line is a capital letter. This makes it easier to see the word spelled out down the page. Acrostic poems are easy to write because they don’t need to rhyme. Each line can be as long or as short as you want it to be.
To create an acrostic poem, follow these four easy steps:
- Write your word vertically down the page - we are using the word RESOURCEFUL.
- Brainstorm words or phrases that describe your idea.
- Place your brainstormed words or phrases on the lines that begin with the same letters.
- Fill in the rest of the lines to create a poem.
Here is my attempt at an acrostic poem all about the Three Little Pigs story.
I'm looking forward to seeing your poems!
