Garden to Table Week 5

We had a great day both in the garden and the kitchen during Garden to Table today.  Sarah, our amazing kitchen expert wanted to give Richie a special shout out for his professional knife skills in the kitchen! She was very impressed.

In the garden, Richard was raving about the incredible effort the girls put in to shovel so much dirt into our newest raised plant bed.

...and of course, the food was AMAZING!!

Could you spot an oxalis weed in your garden?  If you did, would you pull it out?

  1. Kia Ora Ms Judd, Jed here,if I ever spotted that kind of plant I would pull it out because it could stop the other plants from growing and that is why I would pull it out. blog ya later.

    1. Kia ora Teddy, yes it was so satisfying popping the Oxalis bulbs ....and the more we do it, the more chance all our delicious vegetables have to grow bigger and stronger. So I'm glad you would pull out an Oxalis weed if you saw it. To answer your question, yes I love Garden to Table! I will be sad when the term ends and we won't do it any more this year. I am however, looking forward to the last session because we cook (and eat) PIZZA! How about you? bye, Megan

  5. Hi Megan. Man, that Samoan & Tongan food was awesome! The thing I loved the most was the Otai. And it was so satisfying popping the Oxalis bulbs plus if you pop one bulb that is around about 100 weeds gone!
Question: Have you ever had Oxalis in your garden? (I have)
    Bye!!

    1. Kia ora Kaito, I sure have. It is nearly impossible to get rid of Oxalis, so definitely keep pulling them out and popping the bulbs whenever you can!! Do you know what any other weeds look like so you can pull them out too? Blog you later, Megan

  13. Hello Megan!!
Garden to Table is a really fun thing to do! I really like making the food in the kitchen and I like gardening (Me at my dad do a lot of gardening). My favorite bit is when we get to eat the food! We always have something yummy! I really liked the Chop Suey the most. Well hate a smoothie it looked a little bit weird but it tasted fine. The green bananas kind of tasted like Potatos but I did not really taste the potatos in it.
What was your favorite one?? Blog you later!!
