Hello Megan!! I think you should decide for your learning but maybe not because you could want to learn something not school appropriate. So it is good for you and your teacher to choose. It is important to learn because when you get older in life you will choose a job. When you choose a job you need to know what to do. Like if you choose Art then you have to learn how to do it in school. Or you want to be a teacher you really need to go to school. Why do you think it is important to learn??? I think the teacher should know what's important for us if we don't know how to do certain stuff like math if your on that level that you don't know the next step you will need help from your teacher . Gidday Room 7 I think that you should listen to the experts at the thing that you want to learn. I think that you should learn from the beginning to the end so you miss some important things to do. I think it is important to learn how to speak because you can't communicate to other people if you don't learn how to talk.This isn't as important as to speak but it is still good to learn karate for self defence because it someone tries to kidnap you,you can defend yourself from that person. By that I mean not what you learn but what everyone learns, for if only your parents decide what is important to learn e.g. Reading, Writing and Mathematics then people on the other side of the world will have the same rules. I think for me it is important to learn: How to Read, Write, do Math, Project my voice, have spot on grammar and how to play whatever sport I like. What do you think, do you agree with me? Samantha.

I also think that the council are telling what us to learn too. I do karate and my karate teacher is teaching me what to learn to defend our self's against people. That is what I think.
